Do I enjoy the creative freedom?
Looking at my projects that I have done on this course I am
able to say I have definitely enjoy the creative freedom.
Do I prefer working with text and images that were provided
to me?
I was happy to take the project from part three: Principles
" called: Illustrating text " where I could be creative enough to put
my own stamp on the book that we all know, called: Alice
in wonderland ". I think I am more creative when the text is given my by someone.
I like to have text that I can work on, something that gives me directions or a
sample of the field that I should work on. However there is a time where I
prefer to work on my own and not to be restricted with the text that was
created by another person.
Do I prefer working with hands-on way?
I am defiantly person that likes to work hands-on, where I
am able to feel the texture that I work with. Then that project means more to
me as it becomes more personal. There is
still a child in me that like to get messy during the work that makes it more
fun. However working hands-on can be also a plane work with a pencil and paper,
where I tried to respect the space and the medium to create a clean
illustration. Assignment two where I did
a few sketches is good example of the way I treat space that is given me.
Do I prefer working digitally?
There is a big demand to work digitally in current
world. I have been using a computer soft
ware for last few years to create my art work just because I wanted to try
something different. However I do prefer
to create my work only with my hands without using a computer. Sometimes when I work on the illustration I
spend too much time on making the image as clean as possible and in the outcome
I usually over do it. The perfect
example could be my firs assignment where I was asked to create three
illustrations about my identity.
Which of the subjects covered in this course have interested
me the most?
This is not that easy to answer to this question as I found
all subjects interesting. There was
always something new to me and something I could work on and build up my
knowledge like:
- Contextualisation
- Typography
- Colour
- Paper
- Printing and bookbinding
The experimental typography could be the subject that I
found more interesting then I thought it is.
