The Study Skills Handbook by Stella Cottrell

Bestseller in Children’s section:

I found a few differences when I was browsing through the education, the children’s, the poetry and drama section . The education  has a different variety of book sizes and thickness. The colours on the front covers are usually plain and the font is usually big and bold.  As this section is mainly for the young people that want to gain some knowledge, therefore the look of the book has to be plane and easy to absorb new information.  The Children’s section is totally different to the previous one in terms of colours , fonts and thickness. The book has to applies to the young audience ,therefore has to be visible from the distance. The colours are usually bright and catchy for the eye . The illustration is usually funny and it is created from big shapes. The books are usually thin and it depends on the age group that they appeal to, for example: the extent of picture book is roughly 32.

I found different demands for the books in the Poetry and Drama section.  As the audience is different, the book covers are also different from the Children’s section.  The size  of the book is smaller . The book covers are usually plain with one small illustration or a drawing. The font is more sophisticated and the size of it is usually small.
